  • 3 large Ripe Bananas Use very ripe bananas with brown spots
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Can substitute half with whole wheat
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar Feel free to reduce slightly if bananas are extra ripe
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 large Eggs Beaten
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Melted and cooled
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

  • 1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts or Pecans
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon or Nutmeg For a pinch of spice

Method
 

How to Make Simple Banana Bread
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and position a rack in the center.
  2. In a large bowl, mash 3 very ripe bananas until almost smooth.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Stir melted butter, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract into the mashed bananas.
  5. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. If using, gently stir in ½ cup of chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Bake for 55–60 minutes.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Optional: Brush warm slices with melted butter for extra richness.
