How to Make Simple Banana Bread
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and position a rack in the center.
- In a large bowl, mash 3 very ripe bananas until almost smooth.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Stir melted butter, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract into the mashed bananas.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- If using, gently stir in ½ cup of chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Bake for 55–60 minutes.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Optional: Brush warm slices with melted butter for extra richness.
